The fight is now on to ensure the Mildura region has its share of funding set aside for Regional Victoria.
Mildura Rural City Council says it’ll continue to lobby the Victorian Government for a piece of the more than two- billion it has announced for sporting facilities, social and affordable housing and tourism.
The money is being set aside after the government announced it was scrapping the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

While Mildura wasn’t officially hosting any sporting events for the Games, council says it’s been fighting to ensure it wasn’t left out.
