A court has heard that a teenager accused of a home invasion laughed at Police when he was showed CCTV of him allegedly holding a machete.
The teen seeking bail in the Mildura Magistrates court over his alleged involvement in the attempted invasion.
The court heard a group of four youths – including the teen – had allegedly entered a home in Mildura in the early hours of September 17, with CCTV allegedly showing the teen holding the knife and forcing his way through the gate and trying to unlock the home, which startled the occupants and caused them to call the Police.
The teens had allegedly fled by the time police arrived, but allegedly attempted to enter another address, according to the Herald Sun.
Onlookers claim he made derogatory comments about recent police deaths when arrested, with the court hearing he laughed and said there was no weapon when shown CCTV by Police.
He was bailed under strict conditions.
