Cancer Council Victoria is calling on Victorians to rally their family, friends and workmates for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, and turn a simple cuppa into a powerful way to support those impacted by cancer.
With one Australian diagnosed with cancer every five minutes – the same time it takes to boil the kettle and take a tea break – every single morning tea held across the state has the potential to make a life-saving difference.
While the official date of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is Thursday 21 May, Cancer Council Victoria is encouraging people to host events anytime across May and June.
As Cancer Council Victoria marks its historic 90th year supporting Victorians living with cancer and their families, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea remains one of the charity’s most enduring and impactful community fundraisers.
This year, almost 6,000 Victorians are set to host morning tea’s across the state, connecting more than 60,000 people.
Since its inception in 1993, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea has raised more than $200 million nation-wide, helping Cancer Council fund vital research and provide support services for people affected by cancer.
Ways to support Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea:
• Host an event: Plan a morning tea at home, work or in your community this May or June.
• Donate: Support a local event or make a contribution online.
• Get involved: Attend a morning tea near you and be part of the cause.
