Section of river closed and locals urged to use local swimming pools

The Murray is closed to boats and swimmers between Robinvale and Tocumwal Bridge.

Authorities say the ban applies to all residents on both sides of the river due to the current floodwaters.

It comes as all locals are being urged to head to the local swimming pool instead of the Murray this summer.

Dr Hannah Calverley from Life Saving Victoria says it’s important NOT to swim in flooded waters as there can be debris and the flow of the water often changes.
