A few days left for locals to join the new regional police academy being set up in Mildura.
Force command says more than 100 prospective officers have already applied to start training at the academy from January.
Around a fifth of those interested come from interstate, mainly from New South Wales border communities.

A reminder for those thinking about joining Victoria police through Mildura’s new regional academy applications close this Friday.
The Force has already had strong interest.. with over 100 prospective students already putting their hand up.
The new academy will open in January.. the first time future officers will be able to complete their training without having to make the journey to Melbourne.
