Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has had a brief stopover in Mildura before heading to Renmark in South Australia.

He’s had a look at the flood situation in both states.

The PM flew into Mildura on the weekend, before taking a flight to see the flooded Murray from the skies, while also praising the work of volunteers who are trying to stop flooding in their towns.

Meanwhile locals may have noticed helicopters flying over Mildura in recent weeks.

Authorities say that’s because they’ve been getting information together on the flood impacts.

They’ve apologised for any noise issues but say it is important work that needs to be undertaken.
