There are calls for the Federal Government to commit funding for a new Swan Hill Bridge.
The 60 million committed by the former Coalition Government is being reviewed as part of Labor’s Infrastructure Pipeline Program.
Swan Hill Rural City Council says it’s worried the money may not come through, but the bridge needs to be replaced as it’s no longer fit for purpose.
It’s calling on locals to advocate for the bridge replacement.
The council says the potential loss of the funding would be detrimental to communities on both sides of the Murray.
Meanwhile, drivers are being warned of delays if they’re using the Nyah or Swan Hill Bridges this morning.
The structures will be lifted at 9-30 this morning.
Murray River Council says it’ll take around half an hour to complete the bridge lift all going to plan, and motorists are being urged to plan their journey.
