The Murray River peaks are closer than has been recently predicted.
Peaks are now being forecast about a week earlier than recently expected.
The Murray River at Euston may peak today or tomorrow. A prolonged peak is possible through to late December, with moderate flooding.
The Murray River at Mildura Weir may peak around 15-17 December. A prolonged peak is possible through to late December, with moderate flooding.
The Murray River at Wentworth may peak around 18-20 December. A prolonged peak is possible through to early January, with major flooding.
Meanwhile, several Emergency Warnings remain in place.
It is still not safe to return to parts of Mildura, Nichols Point and Bruces Bend, Karadoc on the riverside of Cootamundra Ave and the lower reaches of Edey Rd near the river and Iraak.
A Prepare to Evacuate warning remains for communities close to the Murray River between Colignan, Nangiloc and north to Lambert Island and Boeill Creek.
Also, the Yelta levee has now been compromised Wednesday December 7.
A heavy vehicle truck detour has been activated to enable access to the Yelta Grain Corp facility via Paschendale Avenue & Fifth Street.
The northern end of Meridian Road and Bunker Road are now closed.
