There’ve been more detections of Murray Valley Encephalitis in Northern Victoria.
Authorities say MVE and West Nile/Kunjin Virus have been found in mozzies, with a high number in the Mildura region.
MVE can cause a rare but potentially serious infection of the central nervous system and is spread to humans by mosquitoes.

Anyone in the Mildura region are being urged to take measures to avoid being bitten by the insects.
Authorities say people should wear appropriate repellent when outdoors and cover up with long, loose-fitting clothing.
