Mildura’s Priority Primary Care Centre is opened to patients, but it’ll only be operating one day a week at this stage.

It’ll take patients for urgent care for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses, including suspected breaks, minor cuts or burns and allergies, on a Fridays between 9:00am and 4.30pm.

Sunraysia Community Health Services says treatment is free and people don’t need a Medicare card to attend.

It’s aimed at taking some stress off the Mildura Base Public Hospital Emergency Department.

Primary Priority Care Centres are designed to operate when needed most by the community, meaning opening hours are generally based around data on ED presentations.

The Primary Priority Care Centre is at 137 Thirteenth Street, Mildura, and extended opening hours are expected in the coming weeks.
