Nearly 90% of Mildura pet owners have a dog, with just over 40% owning a cat.
The RSPCA Victoria pet poll, found the powerful nature of pet ownership asking owners if they celebrate their four-legged friends’ birthdays and whether they sleep on beds.
The figures show the third most popular pet in Mildura was a bird followed by fish and reptiles.
