Mildura councillor Jason Modica has been suspended for two months for failing to disclose a conflict of interest over a council vote.
It is reportedly related to a planning application for rural land, with his sister living on land across the road from the proposed site, where she had a similar business.
The Chief Municipal Officer ordered Modica also apologise to the council, and he can’t chair a delegated committee until the end of this financial year.
The vote in question was held while Cr Modica was Mildura Rural City Council Mayor in 2021.
