A new report has found Mildura Rural City Council has cut its public lighting electricity and water usage.
It’s also slashed the amount of waste going to landfill.
The Environmental Sustainability Report found more than twelve hundred trees were planted in urban areas during the last financial year.
The city says it shows the benefits of its works over the past few years, and its direction for zero emissions.
Other results of the report show that Mildura Council has slashed emissions by the equivalent of 6,250 tonnes of carbon dioxide, engaged more than 1,175 residents in environmental and waste education, replaced three fleet vehicles with fully electric vehicles and installed four electrical vehicle charger points.
