Two local Mayors are among seven calling for an urgent meeting with Victorian Ministers on a Basin Sustainable Communities Fund.
The Murray Group of Councils, which includes Mildura and Swan Hill, says there needs to be genuine partnership with local communities to get the investment right.
The Federal Government set up the fund to help communities adjust to the buy backs under the Murray Darling Basin Plan.

The Councils say they welcome Victoria’s decision to accept the funding and say they want to improve investment.
