Mildura councillor Stefano De Pieri has faced court over a text message he sent to a council CEO candidate, advising him to talk about gender equality in an interview.
De Pieri then withdrew from the recruitment process.
He’s pleaded guilty to misusing his position on council in breach of the Local Government Act in relation to a text to Brett Millington earlier this year.

The court heard it was a “brain Fart” and an act of stupidity.
De Pieri was placed on a three-month good behaviour bond and fined 15-hundred dollars.
Mr Millington didn’t get the job and is now chief of SuniTAFE.
