Mildura MP Jade Benham has called on the Victorian Government to address cross-border issues in relation to firefighters.
She’s met with local firefighters in the last week, finding out about the roles firefighters are responsible for.
She says it’s emphasised the need for the government to address the challenges of cross-border issues saying firefighters can be the frontline for emergencies across the South Australian and NSW border.

She says fire stations take into consideration the radial boundaries affected by state borders, and the region needs first responders who can help no matter what side the of the border needs assistance.
