A Watch and Act Warning for flood waters along the Murray River is in place for areas between Swan Hill and Wentworth.

Authorities say the river is expected to exceed the minor flood level at Mildura Weir today.

They’re warning major flooding higher than the 1975 floods could be possible at Mildura, Wentworth, Euston and Boundary Bend over coming weeks.

Meantime, a community flood information drop in session’s being held at Nangiloc Hall this afternoon between 3:00 and 4:00.

Locals will be able to chat with representatives from Mallee Catchment Management Authority.. Lower Murray Water and the SES.

Another meeting will be held at Merbein tomorrow.

And the emergency warning for Kenley south of Robinvale is still in place.

Locals and visitors in the area are being told to evacuate immediately due to rising floodwaters along the Murray.

Authorities say floodwaters are continuing to rise to their peak over the coming week at Kenley.
