An emergency warning has been reissued for parts of Mildura, Nichols Point and Bruces Bend for residents told it’s still not safe to return.
Residents in Karadoc on the riverside of Cootamundra Ave and the lower reaches of Edey Rd near the river and Iraak are also warned it is not safe to return.
Authorities say the evacuation warnings remains current with the flooding expected to last several weeks in the area.
They’re continuing to monitor the levees in the area.
Locals who’ve decided to stay are being advised they may lose services including power, water and sewerage.
The Murray River is expected to reach thirty-eight-point-four metres next Thursday.
The SES has been told the river is expected to stay at the level for up to two weeks.
Russell Manning the Mildura Incident Control Centre’s taken to social media to say they’ve been looking at the plans for sandbagging areas.
The Murray River at Wentworth is now expected to peak around 18-20 December, with major flooding. A prolonged peak is possible through to early January.
