Emergency warnings for Karadoc and Iraak Island have been downgraded to watch and act messages, but locals are still being told it’s not safe to return home due to rising floodwaters.
Authorities say an evacuation warning remains with dangerous floodwaters and hazardous trees.
Those who’ve stayed are being urged to shelter in the highest location possible.

Watch and Act – Prepare to Evacuate
If you live, work or are holidaying in low lying areas of Nichols Point including First Street, Bruces Bend, Keating Avenue, Billabong Road, Karadoc Avenue and also Cureton Avenue, Etiwanda Wetlands and surrounding areas, also communities close to the Murray River between Colignan, Nangiloc, Iraak and north to Lambert Island, you should Prepare to Evacuate.
Watch & Act – Flood – Not Safe to Return
Iraak Island and Karadoc – the river side of Cootamundra Ave and the lower reaches of Edey Rd near the Murray River.
If you have not evacuated, you should now shelter in the highest location possible.
An evacuation warning remains in place for both areas.

The Murray River downstream of Liparoo all the way to the South Australian border.
Boeill Creek flooding – Prepare to evacuate
All properties in Boeill Creek south of River Road, including properties along Amaroo Road.
