An Emergency Warning remains in place for Iraak Island.

Authorities say while an evacuation warning is current, it’s now too late to leave with Rudds Road closed due to its deteriorating condition.

Those who haven’t been able to leave are being urged to shelter in the highest location possible.

Advice messages and watch and act alerts have been issued for sections of the Murray River, with floodwaters expected to continue rising.

The Murray River at Mildura Weir is expected to pass its moderate flood level this weekend and major peak near the major flood level late next week.

Meanwhile, NSW SES and Wentworth Shire Council will be running two community sandbagging days this coming weekend using a sandbagging machine.

Saturday 19 November 2022 at Carramar Oval, 9.00am – 3.00pm and Sunday 20 November 2022 at Wentworth Showgrounds, 9.00am – 3.00pm.

And there is going to be a Mildura Community Flood Preparedness Meeting on Sunday from 4:00pm, Mildura Sporting Precinct, and streamed on the Mildura Rural City Council Facebook page.
