Locals in the Mildura and Swan Hill municipalities are again being urged to make sure they’re able to get vaccinated against Japanese encephalitis.
Authorities have expanded eligibility criteria against the virus after a survey’s found more people have been infected.
The survey of over 800 people in areas including the Loddon Mallee found around one-in-thirty participants had evidence of prior infections.

The vaccine’s free for those most at risk including locals who spend most of their day outside for work.
