Help available for those overwhelmed by local flooding

Locals still feeling worried or overwhelmed by the Murray River Floods are being reminded they can get help.

Mildura Council says Mallee Family Care’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub is a free service to support the community and no referral is required.

You can call the hub on 1300 375 330 from 9am -10pm weekdays and 9am-5pm weekends. You can also drop in to Mallee Family Care’s offices at 122 Ninth Street, Mildura.

And more than one million dollars has been announced to help women affected by flooding across Victoria.

Women’s Health Loddon Mallee is one of four health services to share in the Victorian funding.

The government says the organisation has played a critical role in supporting local women through disasters.

It comes as the flood recovery process continues across Sunraysia.

Meanwhile, equipment brought in to help with the floods crisis across the Wentworth and Balranald Shires is being trucked out.

It was based in the region from November and over the Christmas break.

The Rural Fire Service though says there’ll still be members and equipment on hand ready for when the Darling River peaks.
