Emergency services agencies are working to prepare the Murray River to reach major flood levels at Robinvale.
The works have included blocking underground stormwater drains with inflatable rubber devices to stop floodwaters going back through the drains into residential areas.
High-flow pumps are also being used to remove water from residential areas.
Meantime, advice and watch and act alerts remain in place for the Murray for locals to avoid floodwaters.

Levee and other works continue in the Mildura Rural City Council and Wentworth Shire Council areas.
Also, sandbag levees have been built along the Murray Valley Highway to try and stop it from being cut off by floodwaters.
The levees are in place in areas including Boundary Bend to minimise the chances of it closing.
But emergency services have closed the highway at Reedy Lake due to floodwaters over the road.
Authorities are again reminding locals to avoid driving in floodwaters as advice and watch and act messages remain in place along the river.
