Flood recovery update

Locals will be able to have flood waste collected from their homes from today as the clean-up continues across the region.

Mildura mayor Liam Wood has taken to social media to say it will be free for eligible residents

Meanwhile we have seen the final flood warning for the Murray River at Mildura and Wentworth, with the level dropping below the minor flood level last week at Wentworth, however it is still not safe to return to several spots locally.

The Watch and Act – Riverine Flood – Not Safe to Return is still in place for parts of Mildura, Nichols Point and Bruces Bend including Etiwanda Ave Extension, Benetook Ave Extension, Cowra Ave Extension, Cureton Ave East, River Boulevard, Park Rd, Park Lane, Loop Rd, Billabong Rd, Pate St, Irymple Ave Extension, First St and Keating Ave.

Also, there is a Flood — Watch and Act in place for Burtundy, Pomona, Ellerslie & Great Darling Anabranch flooding.

The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) NOT TO ENTER FLOODWATER due to predicted widespread major flooding:

 

Current and predicted flows in the Darling River are not likely to cause significant river level rises at Wentworth.
