Mildura MP JADE BENHAM’s slammed the Victorian Government for shortening the duck hunting season.
It’ll run for five weeks between April 26 and May 30, but the Nationals member says it’s an insult for hunters not only in the north-west but across the state.
The announcement last week that Victoria’s duck hunting season will run for five weeks is
an insult to hunters across the state.
The Andrews Labor Government has continued its stealth shutdown of hunting in Victoria,
quietly announcing the 2023 duck hunting season, with a daily bag limit of four birds.
The season will run from Wednesday, April 26 to Tuesday, May 30 from 8am until 30
minutes after sunset daily.
Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, said hunters in Victoria, including in her electorate, were
being punished by a government looking to shore up votes in the city.
“Duck hunters are becoming the poster child of Labor’s green crusade,” Ms Benham said.
“The Andrews Labor Government is mounting pressure on hunters that are doing
the right.
The Liberals and National’s continue to support Victoria’s recreational hunters.
