Victoria's council planning report cards are in and while some Cities
and shires have been given a big fat fail, Mildura's JUST scraped
through with a pass.
Only 53% of local planning applications are dealt with within
the State Government's 60-day deadline, but the median time taken is
only slightly above that at 72-days.
The Council says it's been able to speed up the process by recruiting
staff and streamlining processes.
Mildura's still well ahead of the state's worst council - Hepburn
Shire, where only a-quarter of applications are resolved within 60
days, while the wait for a permit outcome in Macedon Ranges Shire is
a staggering 170 days.
