Coomealla grass fire deemed suspicious

Fire crews have battled a grass fire at Coomealla.

It was called in late Sunday afternoon, with firefighters finding the flames heading towards the Silver City Highway, saying it had the potential to threaten properties.

They managed to contain the blaze to just over nine hectares.

Firefighters were still on scene yesterday putting out the blaze.

It is being treated as suspicious at this stage.

The cause is being investigated but authorities are asking anyone with information on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
