There are concerns about the number of illegal burn-offs across Mildura and Swan Hill municipalities.
EPA Victoria says it’s been so bad at times there have been concerns the lower air quality could be harmful.
It’s had several reports of properties burning off materials including treated pine posts, dried fruit racks, grape vine covers, metal and waste tyres.

The environmental authority says those materials need to be property disposed of at licenced facilities.
It says smoke from waste burns could be harmful to humans, particularly for those with asthma or other lung conditions.
