The man accused of killing his mother in her Red Cliffs home could stand trial early next year.

Paul Cohrs has been charged with murder, alleged to have killed his elderly mother Bette in 2018.

The Supreme Court heard two psychiatrists agreed Cohrs was fit to stand trial while still suffering from a disorder, according to a report in the Sunraysia Daily.

He has twice previously been found unfit to stand trial.

He’s been treated for the last 12 months in a mental health facility.

Mr Cohrs said to the court that he accepted the contents of the psychiatric reports and he did not require cross-examination of the authors.

“I accept what they say,” Mr Cohrs said.
