The flood clean up on Mildura’s riverfront is continuing, but the city is asking the community keep their distance from machinery and crews doing the work.
The council says it’ll allow workers to get the job done quickly and allow the riverfront to be opened to the public.
Mildura Weir is sitting at just over 35-metres and falling, now below the minor flood level.
However a watch and act remains in place for sections of Mildura, Nichols Point and Bruces Bend, with authorities saying it’s still not safe to return.
Council has thanked the community for their understanding, and say they share the community excitement as the area continues to recover from the Murray River flood event.
