Lower Murray Water is urging customers to conserve water due to their current treatment challenges.
It says treatment plants are taking extra time to bring the water to Australian standards due to poor raw river water quality.
However the local water authority is reassuring residents that urban water is safe to drink and is tested to comply with national standards.

They do not anticipate any interruption to potable water supply or sewerage services.
