There are calls for the Victorian Government to push hard for an extension to the Murray Darling Basin Plan deadline.
The opposition says reports the Federal Government is looking to extend the program’s 2024 deadline is a positive change from rhetoric of buybacks and hard deadlines.
It says the Andrews Government needs to ensure there’s an extension to give basin communities more time to deliver the additional environmental water without buybacks.
