Robinvale is set to lose another bank.
Westpac is going to close its branch in the town in May, with ANZ already planning to shut its office the same month.
Member for Mallee Anne Webster has taken to social media to say it isn’t good enough.
The local MP says last year she brought the Australian Banking Association to Mallee for a public forum hosted by the Regional Banking Taskforce.
The ABA endorsed the recommendations the taskforce put to them, which included the requirement to do an Impact Assessment before they did any closures, and was calling on the Westpac bank to release that Impact Assessment to the public.
She is urging the people of Mallee in towns like Robinvale who are now losing yet another service to move your business and send the big banks a message.
Member for Mildura Jade Benham has also slammed the move on social media, again saying there needs to be an impact assessment before any bank closure.
Robinvale will only have a Commonwealth Bank branch in the town after the Westpac and ANZ branches close.
