A red Alert’s been issued for blue-green algae in several areas in the Lower Darling River and within the Menindee Lakes System.
These are on top of the alerts already in the region, including Lake Menindee, Lake Wetherell and the Great Darling Anabranch at the Silver City Highway crossing.
As we head into Easter people are being urged to avoid going into or drinking the impacted water.

The red alert will be in place until testing shows the risk has been reduced.
