Airbnb could get more expensive

Taking a holiday at your favourite Airbnb could be about to get more expensive.

Owners could be hit with a new tax, with the idea to encourage them to make their properties available to longer-term tenants, to help get more Victorians into homes.

There are more than twenty Airbnb properties available across the Mildura region.

The State Opposition says a levy on short stay accommodation isn’t the answer to the accommodation problem.
