How’s Ya Mate Round this SFNL round
The Sunraysia Football Netball League (SFNL), in partnership with Lifeline Loddon Mallee, is proud to deliver the How’s Ya Mate Round on 9 August 2025 – a chance for the Sunraysia sporting community to get behind mental health and suicide prevention.
With Lifeline on-site across key fixtures, clubs, players, and spectators will have access to free resources and information to spark vital conversations about mental health and suicide prevention.
Through the How’s Ya Mate initiative, each SFNL club is eligible for free Accidental Counsellor training for three members and Mental Health First Aid training for two members, ensuring clubs are not only strong on the field, but resilient off it.
These programs empower members to identify warning signs, respond with confidence, and refer individuals to the right support.
From anxiety and burnout to disordered eating and risky behaviours, the mental load on athletes is real—and often hidden.
Initiatives like How’s Ya Mate are helping to break down stigma and create a more connected, open culture across local sport.
On 9 August, look out for Lifeline’s info stalls across SFNL games offering free materials, helpful conversations, and a visible reminder that mental health matters in Sunraysia.
