Dareton Coomealla Centenary Celebrations
Thursday April 25th to Sunday April 28 2024
25th – 28th April 2024 will be a huge weekend for Dareton / Coomealla with a full program of exciting celebrations.
They welcome any individuals or groups to message them via their Facebook page but ask those who wish to have displays, wish to join various committees or have any formal input to email daretoncentenary@gmail.com
Thursday 25th April 2024:
11am – 12noon Anzac Day Service – Tapio Street Park
12:30pm – 2pm Community lunch in Tapio Street Park
1pm – 5pm Open displays in Shops
12pm – 4pm Registrations – Senior Citizens Rooms, Mille Street
5pm – 7pm WDFNC – Training / Meal available, George Gordon Oval
Friday 26th April 2024:
8am – 10am Breakfast available at Coomealla Club
All Day Open displays in Tapio Street Shops
11am Official Centenary Opening – Wentworth Shire Mayor Daniel Linklater – Tapio Street Park.
11:30am Official Opening of Travellers Rest—Tapio Street Park
12pm – 4pm Registrations Senior Citizens Rooms, Millie Street
12:30pm Opening of Dareton Men in a Shed – New Shed/ Facilities
Recreation Reserve behind Dareton Pool
1pm – 4pm Arts & Crafts display – Dareton Primary School
BMEET Gallery display, Silver City Hwy—Old Coomealla Packers Store
1pm – 5pm Screening Film – “Flowing Gold”, the 1954 21 min. Coloured documentary film on the development on the WWII soldier settlement in Coomealla
Function Room Coomealla Club. Screening commence on the hour.
1pm – 4pm Open displays—Fox Lillie—Western Murray Coomealla Pumps – Men in A Shed— Elizabeth Morrison Dolls—Early Settlers Museum
5pm – 7pm Registrations – Coomealla Club
6pm Coomealla Golf Club Meals – Entertainment – return of the popular Friday Golf Club Meals, plus entertainment with Brolly Bros—Bookings required – contact Coomealla Club.
6pm Dinner One (1) – Coomealla Club Auditorium

8am Assembly for Street Parade – CMSC Car-Park
(vehicles / floats) – registration required
9:30am Street Parade depart Club Car-Park . Route from Matong St,
Turn right into Avoca, turn right into Mitchell Ave, veer right past CHAC building in Tapio Ave. Parade passes through Tapio St and around corner (CFS) turning right into Matong St concluding in CMSC car– park for display vehicles
10am Street Parade – Walkers may join from Sturt Place.
WDFNC – Football and Netball George Gordon Oval
(Juniors commence 10am, Seniors 4pm (Twilight Game)
11:30am Street Parade finish Club Car-Park
12pm – 2pm Registrations – Senior Citizens Rooms, Mille St

The program will feature some old talents and some new talents to commemorate the contribution of CVE to local entertainment
