A Mildura fruit packing company will spend more than $300,000 grand on health and safety at their facility in response to an injury suffered by a worker.
The Mildura Magistrates Court last week heard that the company entered into an enforceable undertaking in response to two charges of failing to ensure a workplace was safe and without risks to health.
The Sunraysia Daily reports it followed an incident back in July 2023, which saw a injure their hand while cleaning after trying to dislodge some fruit caught between a conveyor belt and a bar.
The workers glove become caught between the belt and bar, causing injuries to the workers hand.
Worksafe could reinstate charges if the undertaking is contravened.
