Lower Murray Water is advising locals that if they see hydrants open
in the street, it might not be a mistake.
The team says sometimes they have to flush out the urban water system
to get rid of any sediment or dirt, often after they’ve completed
some maintenance or repaired a leak.
They leave a Lower Murray Water witches hat beside the hydrant to
let the community know it’s intentional, asking locals leave it be
while they finish the work.
