Text Scam Targeting Sunraysia Residents

The Australian Competition And Consumer Commission (ACCC) are warning residents of "Sunraysia" to be wary of Scams offering or asking for gift cards.

These messages could come via text or email and are simply fraudsters trying to obtain your personal details.

A Mildura resident reported receiving a text message advising she had won two "Woolworths" gift vouchers.

Several local elderly people were also target of a SCAM involving "Itune" Gift Cards.

Always think before opening texts or emails to check thoroughly if it's a number or address known to you, and it's pretty safe to say anything offering something for "FREE" is going to be fraudulent.

Should you receive such text messages or emails, don't open them and delete them immediately and definatly do not fill in any details or respond to them in any way.

Any suspicious text messages or emails should also be reported to the ACCC website https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/
