Murray Darling licence crackdown

The Victorian Farmers Federation's backed a move by the State Government to crack down on Water Licences for the Murray Darling Basin.

Water Minister LISA NEVILLE says she will review very new water licence application for the next 12 months and she hopes other states will join in and not deliberately overuse an already limited water

supply.

The Farmers Federation says careful management of water licences in the Lower Murray will not only protect irrigators but farmers that have had a large amount of their eater traded downstream.
