Woman arrested after assault at Barmera

A woman has been arrested after an incident in Barmera.

Police will allege that about 6.30am on Saturday 2 December, police were called to a house on Tunkin Road after reports that a woman had smashed a car and other property using a machete, along with windows in the house.

A woman at the house suffered minor injuries.

The suspect then left the scene.

Officers later went to the suspect’s house and arrested her, charging her with property damage, aggravated serious criminal trespass and aggravated assault.

The 27-year-old Berri woman was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court in January 2024.

Police wish to reassure the community that this was not a random incident with all persons known to each other.
