Two charged after alleged thefts in Broken Hill

Police have charged a second man following an investigation into a series of alleged break and enters in Broken Hill.

Officers from Broken Hill Police commenced an investigation following reports of a break and enter at a property last weekend, between Friday (17 September 2021) and Saturday (18 September 2021).

Police were told three storage sheds on the property had been forced open and a number of items had been stolen.

A break and enter was also reported at another property, with $20,000 allegedly stolen from a safe.

On Tuesday (21 September 2021), officers received reports of another break and enter at a business where about $15,000 worth of cigarettes were stolen.

Officers arrested an 18-year-old man outside Broken Hill Police Station on Wednesday.

A further man, 28-year-old, was arrested during a vehicle stop on Thursday.

Investigations continue.
