COVID traces detected in Balranald
NSW Health’s ongoing sewage surveillance program has detected traces of the virus that causes COVID-19 at the Balranald sewage treatment plant, which serves about 1,100 people.
This is of particular concern, as this is the first detection in Balranald sewage. There are no recent cases in Balranald.
Everyone in the area is urged to monitor for the onset of symptoms, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received.
There is a pop-up COVID-19 testing clinic at Greenham Park Hall, Church Street, Balranald. It is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
