Newly graduated Junior NSW rider, Beau Bailey, stormed home against much more experienced and qualified riders to claim the Robinson Plumbing, Victorian Solo Title, at Mildura’s Olympic Park Speedway on Saturday night.
The sixteen-year-old Grenfell, NSW rider, Bailey, had been totally consistent all night after having to ride in a cut-throat qualification round of one lap dashes, prior to even being included in the State title field.
Bailey, the youngest rider in the Title field, top scored on points for the night, only dropping one point to Mildura’s star rider, Justin Sedgmen, who ultimately finished in second place in the exciting final, which had to be started for a second time.
In the support events a second Victorian Title, the Junior 250cc Title was run concurrently with the Senior event which saw a win to young International competitor, Albury’s, Cooper Antone.
Next meeting at Olympic Park will be the Phil Crump Solo Classic which will be held on Saturday 27th December, with a full field of International riders in attendance.
A massive crowd is expected for the Crump meeting which will be attended by the “Mildura Master” himself, Phil Crump.
