South Australia’s Murray Mallee Police detected several traffic offences over the weekend, including:
On Friday 26 September, a 55-year-old Renmark South man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.162 when stopped by police on Renmark Avenue at Renmark. Checks revealed his licence was also disqualified. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he was issued with a 12-month loss of licence. He will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Friday, three people were stopped in Loxton and all returned a positive test for illicit drugs. A 39-year-old man was stopped on Bookpurnong Road, a 51-year-old man was stopped on East Terrace and a 22-year-old woman was stopped on Bookpurnong Road. All three drivers received a 3-month loss of licence and may be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court pending forensic analysis.
On Saturday 27 September, a 41-year-old woman was reported for driving disqualified after she was pulled over on Mortimer Road, Berri. She will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Saturday, a 23-year-old Lyrup man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.140 when stopped on Downer Avenue, Berri. He was issued with a 6-month loss of licence and will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Saturday, two drivers were stopped in Loxton and tested positive for illicit drugs. A 41-year-old man was stopped on Bookpurnong Terrace and a 53-year-old man was stopped on Gratwick Road. Both received a 3-month loss of licence and may be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court pending forensic analysis.
On Sunday 28 September, a 39-year-old Berri man was pulled over for a mobile driver test on Vaughan Terrace. He refused to comply with further breath analysis and was reported and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
