Victoria Police have taken to social media to add their support to cyber safety.
Police say online threats are part of everyday life, but taking small actions makes a big difference, and they have also posed the question: How can you be safe online?
Ideas to improve safety include installing all software updates to keep your devices secure, using a unique and strong passphrase on every account, and always seting up multi-factor authentication.
Police ask the public to make cyber security an everyday habit just like buckling your seatbelt or locking your front door, to protect your accounts and devices.
October is Cyber Security Awareness Month and it offers an opportunity for all Australians to take action to improve their cyber security.
