Mallee Accommodation and Support Program (MASP) welcomes the Australian Government’s additional funding for three early intervention support services for men, including those who perpetrate or experience family and domestic violence.

Under the funding, No to Violence will receive an additional $1.89 million from 2024-25 to 2025- 26 for the Men’s Referral Service and the Brief Intervention Service, and Lifeline Australia will receive an additional $800,000 in 2024-25 for MensLine Australia.

MASP Acting CEO Charmaine Calis said early intervention in family violence plays a key role in preventing men from escalating their behaviour.

“Prevention is always better than cure, which is why it is good to see these national programs receive more funding in order to protect victim-survivors from immediate and long-term harm,” she said.
