Member for Mildura Jade Benham has joined a rally on the steps of parliament calling for the scrapping of the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund.
A large crowd, including locals from the Mildura and Swan Hill area, took to the steps of State Parliament yesterday to rally against the new fund as concerns grow that regional residents are going to be adversely impacted.
Benham says the turn-out was telling.
