Five times the limit in Renmark

A high range drink driver was caught at Renmark over the weekend.

About 6.20pm Friday 24 January police spotted a Mitsubishi ute travelling north west on the Sturt Highway and stopped the vehicle on nearby Para Street to breath test the driver.

The driver, a 71-year-old Victorian man allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.250 – five times the legal limit.

He lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days.

The man was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to Court at a later date.
